Virginia (Ginna) Swarr
Member since January 2025
Ginna is a third-year Biomedical Engineering student pursuing an Applied Mathematics minor on the pre-doctoral research track. Her research interests center on maternal-fetal immunology, computational biology, and engineering education. In the Dolatshahi Systems Immunology Lab, her work focuses on immune signaling pathways that influence antibody transfer and maternal-fetal health. She received the Harrison Undergraduate Research Award to fund her research in the Dolatshahi Lab in Summer 2026. Outside of the lab, she enjoys practicing yoga and barre. She plans to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and hopes to build a career combining research and education with an emphasis on promoting medical research surrounding historically marginalized groups.

Zuhayr Ansari
Member since August 2023
Zuhayr is a UVA undergraduate majoring in Neuroscience with a focus in Analytical Computing. His research in the Dolatshahi Lab focuses on the application of machine learning to the clinical environment of transplant medicine. He is currently working on an auto and alloantibodies project for kidney transplant rejection. Outside of the lab, you can find Zuhayr playing soccer or working on a robotics project.
